Housing and public sector land update Work to identify land opportunities continues with four locality reviews conducted so far in Epping, Rochford, Southend-on-Sea and Tendring. Currently there is a pipeline of 115 sites that equates to 65 hectares which could hold more than 2100 units. 20 of these sites are now being worked on to bring forward business cases to support investment for development.
Essex Housing, a service hosted within Essex County Council for use by partners to provide additional capacity or capability to identify land, carry out due diligence and develop business cases for investment and development, has been endorsed by the Essex Partnership Board, the partner-led project board and is expected to go live in September 2015.

The winners and more information can be found on the Castle Point Association of Voluntary Services (CAVS) website.
In March, leaders from Greater Essex councils met to discuss devolution ideas which could see the transfer of powers and funding from central Government to the area. A letter expressing the interest of Greater Essex Councils in exploring devolution was then sent to the Secretary of State, Department for Communities and Local Government.
The partnership will be looking at the Bill with great interest and working together to see how Greater Essex can benefit.
